Welcome to the first of our daily election emails. We were planning to start on Thursday but being a bunch of excitable nerds we’ve already got things to write about.

The bulk of today’s post is written by Josh and looks at the voting intention and leader approval / best prime minister polls we’ve had so far.

Tomorrow I will have a big post going out on the main site about the five signals to follow amidst the campaign noise. We also have posts lined up setting out all the key election resources to know about; looking at the change in the voter population since 2019; and picking out some of the most unusual constituency-level battles.

Seat-by-seat profiles will start on the 7th June once we have a full list of candidates. The Tories still have 160 to select and I suspect a few more MPs will stand down too.

Sam
